28 August 2025: The Middlebury Fire Department recently conducted training with its new extrication tools and air bags, giving members hands-on experience with the equipment to ensure they are ready for emergencies.
Firefighters practiced operating the new tools under realistic conditions, focusing on how they perform during vehicle extrication and technical rescue scenarios.
Department officials emphasized that this training is essential: the more familiar crews are with the equipment now, the faster and more effective they can be when the community needs them most.
“This work ensures that when it’s your time of need, we’ll be ready to respond,” the department shared.
