20 August, 2025 Wednesday night – Members of the Ferrisburgh Volunteer Fire Department trained on their newest apparatus, Engine 2, and a new floating pump, ensuring they are prepared to use the equipment effectively during emergencies.
Firefighters ran multiple evolutions, including flowing water through different nozzles, setting up water supply operations, and conducting practical drills with the new pump. Members also completed an obstacle course while wearing air packs, using a thermal imaging camera to locate simulated victims or fire sources.
Department officials emphasized that training on new equipment allows firefighters to be as efficient and effective as possible during real incidents.
The department extended its thanks to the members who spent their Wednesday night honing their skills in service to the community.
