CEDAR GLEN WEST, NJ — August 20 — Firefighters arrived early on Thursday morning to a vehicle fire in Cedar Glen West.The quick action taken by the responding crews helped stop the fire from spreading to a nearby home.
The Manchester Volunteer Fire Company No.
1, Station 32, was the first to arrive at the scene.This fire company is based at 545 Commonwealth Blvd.in Toms River and is one of the volunteer fire departments serving Manchester Township.According to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Manchester Volunteer Fire Company No.1 is a combination department with volunteer firefighters.
The call was received at around 5:35 a.m.
on August 20.Firefighters found a vehicle that was on fire in the Cedar Glen West area.
Firefighters quickly set up a hose line and began working on the vehicle.
The fire was brought under control before it could spread to a nearby house, as stated in the incident report.
Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company also responded to help Station 32.
Ridgeway operates as Station 34 within Manchester Township's emergency services system and is located at 2848 Ridgeway Road.Township records show that Ridgeway, Manchester, and Whiting are the three volunteer fire departments serving Manchester Township.
The two departments often work together on emergency calls and training.
