ROBBINSVILLE, NJ — August 8, 2026 — On Saturday, the Robbinsville Township Fire Department responded to a reported truck fire at mile marker 62 on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Firefighters from the Robbinsville Township Fire Department came and put out the vehicle fire. The Robbinsville Township Fire Department reports that Monroe Township Fire District No. 2 provided assistance to crews during the operation.

The event happened on the Turnpike, where access, traffic, and a car's location on a restricted-access route can make fireground operations more difficult. While situating equipment and maneuvering around a flaming commercial vehicle, crews must also keep an eye on oncoming traffic.

The fire was extinguished, according to the department. No injuries, the type of truck involved, the cause of the fire or the extent of damage were provided in the department's public report.
