MANCHESTER, NJ — Aug. 11 — Firefighters and emergency services were called to a single-vehicle accident on Schoolhouse Road in Manchester Township on Tuesday, where one person was trapped inside the vehicle.

Whiting Fire Company Station 33 was the first to arrive at the scene.

Deputy Chief 3310 and Assistant Chief 3320 arrived to find the vehicle off the road and partially in the woods, with one person stuck inside.

Deputy Chief 3310 took command while Assistant Chief 3320 oversaw the operations.

Rescue units 3303 and Engine 3301 arrived and helped to stabilize the vehicle before the firefighters removed part of the car to gain access to the trapped individual.

The extrication process allowed EMS workers to assess the person and prepare for transport.

During the operation, crews worked around the damaged vehicle while ensuring stability and coordinating the rescue effort.

The personnel from Whiting Fire Company who responded included Chief 3300, Deputy Chief 3310, Assistant Chief 3320, Rescue 3303, Engine 3301, Brush 3339, Fire Police 3327, and Fire Police 3337.

Other agencies that provided assistance at the scene were Manchester Township Police, Manchester Township EMS/Squad 13, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Fire Department 6759, and RWJBarnabas Health Advanced Life Support.

This incident showed the importance of coordinated efforts in stabilizing and extricating a vehicle when a person is trapped.

Firefighters had to create a stable working area before removing part of the vehicle to allow EMS access.
