Late in the evening on August 8, at approximately 10:59 PM, the Somers Point Fire Department was dispatched to Ocean City to provide mutual aid coverage while Ocean City firefighters worked a residential structure fire.

Somers Point’s Tower 45 and Engine 46 initially responded for station coverage. Shortly after their arrival, Tower 45 was redirected to the fire scene, where its crew deployed the aerial and assisted with extensive overhaul operations.

The Somers Point Fire Department remains committed to supporting neighboring agencies through mutual aid and commends the teamwork, professionalism, and coordinated efforts of all responders involved.
