ALLAMUCHY, N.J. (Monday, July 28, 2025) — Firefighters quickly knocked down a basement fire Monday evening in a Panther Valley residence, preventing it from spreading beyond the home, officials said.

The Allamuchy Fire Department was dispatched around 5:02 p.m. to House Wren on a report of smoke. First-arriving crews found heavy fire in the basement and stretched a hose line to bring it under control, according to the department.

Additional manpower was requested to assist with suppression, overhaul and ventilation.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

Mutual aid was provided by Hackettstown, Green, Netcong, Independence and Budd Lake fire departments, along with the Allamuchy-Green First Aid Squad and Mt. Olive Fire Marshals.
