PENNINGTON, N.J. (Friday, July 18, 2025) — Pennington Fire Company members conducted a water rescue drill Friday night, simulating a victim trapped in swift water after falling down an embankment, officials said.
Swift water technicians advanced to reach the victim and removed them from the water. The scenario continued with firefighters packaging the victim into a basket and lifting them out using a rope system, according to the department.
Officials said such training prepares volunteers for real-life emergencies. The company is encouraging new members to join, noting that no prior experience is required.
