Missing Person Safely Located After Major Multi-Department Search at Target Rock
Huntington, NY - In the city of Huntington of Suffolk County on Thursday, August 13, the Huntington Fire Department was called to assist the Lloyd Harbor Police Department with a search for a missing person at Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge.
The search operation was coordinated by Huntington Fire Department Chiefs in partnership with the Lloyd Harbor Police Department. Multiple fire departments and emergency response teams joined the effort, bringing together personnel and specialized resources to cover the challenging area.
Mutual aid was provided by Centerport Fire Department, Halesite Fire Department, Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department, Huntington Manor Fire Department, Melville Fire Department, Dix Hills Fire Department, East Northport Fire Department, Northport Fire Department, and Greenlawn Fire Department, along with Suffolk County coordinators and the county’s drone team.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts, teamwork, and dedication of all participating agencies, the missing individual was safely located.
The successful operation highlighted the importance of interagency cooperation and the ability of local emergency responders to come together quickly when a community member is in need. Great teamwork by everyone involved helped bring the search to a safe and successful conclusion.
