Two airlifted after motorcycle crash in Dennis Township
DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sunday, July 6, 2025) — Two people were flown to a trauma center after a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Route 47 and Route 83 on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
Dennis Fire units were dispatched around 4:20 p.m. Squad 18 arrived to find a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle just beyond the intersection, according to the department.
Because of the severity of injuries, AtlantiCare EMS and Inspira EMS requested two medical helicopters. Engine 18 and Car 18-1 established a landing zone at Union Cemetery in South Dennis for Cooper 1 and NJSP SouthStar, which transported the patients by air after ground crews provided initial care.
Brush 18 also responded to the crash scene, where firefighters assisted with patient care and traffic control for about an hour before the incident was turned over to New Jersey State Police.
The eastbound entrance from Route 47 south to Route 83, and the turn lane from Route 83 west to Route 47 south, were temporarily closed. Other lanes of Routes 47 and 83 remained open.
The crash is under investigation by New Jersey State Police. No further information on patient conditions was immediately available.
