NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Wednesday, July 9, 2025) — Firefighters in New Brunswick quickly brought a blaze under control Wednesday on Bayard Street, preventing further damage to nearby properties, officials said.

The fire was reported between Joyce Kilmer Avenue and Connector Way. Third Platoon crews arrived and made what officials described as a “strong stop,” containing the flames before they spread.

Mutual aid was provided by the Edison Fire Department, East Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department, and East Brunswick Fire Department. Those companies also maintained city coverage while crews operated at the scene.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
