August 22, 2020 – Scott Township, Allegheny County – At 12:58pm, fire crews were dispatched to the Chatham Park Apartments for an automatic fire alarm. Police arrived on-scene and found a light smoke condition in the basement area of the building. Fire crews quickly arrived and began searching for the source of the smoke. A working fire in an apartment on the 1st floor was then discovers and crews went to work to extinguish the fire. The fire was quickly knocked down and placed under control in under 30 minutes but a heavy smoke condition remained in the building. Crews then began to ventilate the building before allowing residents to return to the building. No injuries were reported and the fire is still under investigation.
