Berkeley Heights, N.J. — August 8 — A car fire on Interstate 78 eastbound close to the Diamond Hill Road on-ramp prompted the Berkeley Heights Fire Department to react. Firefighters had to secure the scene while carefully maneuvering around moving vehicles during highway incidents.

Operating out of 411 Hamilton Avenue, the Berkeley Heights Fire Department offered emergency response and fire safety to the local population. The information available for the response did not identify any mutual-aid departments. Additionally, the event reminded drivers to stay vigilant and use caution when approaching emergency personnel on crowded routes.
