RINGOES, N.J. (July. 31, 2025) — Firefighters put out a blaze involving a hay bale and farm equipment Saturday afternoon along Route 202, officials said.
The call came in at 4:03 p.m. for a reported hay bale fire near Queen Road. Battalion 26, John Siwy, arrived to find a round bale burning in a field with a minor fire in the baler, according to the West Amwell Fire Company.
Chief 26, Jeff Ent, assumed command as Brush 26 entered the field to attack the flames. Engine 26, led by Assistant Chief Hoagland, staged at the field entrance while additional resources were requested.
Brush 48 from the Amwell Valley Fire Company and two brush units from the New Jersey Forest Fire Service assisted. Crews extinguished the fire and completed overhaul operations before clearing the scene.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
