Monday, 11 August 2025 – The Allamuchy Fire Department deployed resources to assist the City of Paterson after a major water main break left more than 185,000 residents affected and strained the city’s firefighting capabilities.
Allamuchy’s Engine 91-61 and Vernon Tanker 1 operated as part of a strike team of engines and tankers tasked with supplying water to the Paterson Fire Department in the event of a working fire. Crews were stationed at the Northside Firehouse alongside Paterson Engine 4, Ladder 2, and Battalion 3.
After returning home, the department expressed its gratitude to Paterson for the warm hospitality. Allamuchy firefighters said they were welcomed like family, sharing space, stories, and camaraderie with their Paterson counterparts.
“It was truly an honor to stand by with you and help keep the city safe,” the department said in a statement.
