New York, N.Y. — August 12, 2026 — Firefighters responded to a fire at Ambassadors Clubhouse, a restaurant at 1245 Broadway near West 31st Street in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood, Wednesday morning.
The first responding fire companies from the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) found fire involving the restaurant. The incident was elevated to an all-hands response, bringing additional FDNY engine companies and other resources to the scene. Reports indicate at least four engine companies were assigned as part of the response.
The fire was reported at about 10:39 a.m. while the restaurant was closed. FDNY contained the fire by approximately 11:10 a.m., with the fire remaining primarily on the building’s exterior. No injuries were reported.
As firemen worked at the scene, smoke and flames could be seen streaming from the front of the building in a video that was posted on social media. Later, restaurant officials said that the establishment will temporarily close until the facility was assessed and made secure.
JKS Restaurants runs Ambassadors Clubhouse, which debuted in New York earlier in 2026. The restaurant claims that the Punjab region of India's culinary customs have impacted its cuisine.
Eater New York reports that the restaurant reopened on August 18.
