On August 13, 2020, a fire broke out in the hills overlooking Azusa which consumed over 2500 acres in a short amount of time. The “Ranch Fire” threatened hillside homes and Azusa Police Department issued a mandatory evacuation of nearby residents. Los Angeles County Fire, U.S. Forestry and several other Fire Agencies battled the difficult blaze and successfully protected the homes in the area. No injuries were reported.
