Basement Fire Contained with Coordinated Interior Operations
Verona, NJ - Verona Fire Department units responded to a reported basement fire in a single-family residence. Upon arrival, command confirmed smoke showing from the front of the home and established incident command, later transitioning command as additional chief officers arrived.
First-due crews advanced a hoseline into the structure, accessing the rear of the residence to initiate an aggressive interior fire attack. Firefighters conducted extensive overhaul operations to locate and extinguish hidden fire, preventing further extension within the home.
The incident was brought under control through coordinated efforts, and the scene was ultimately turned over to the Verona Fire Prevention Bureau for further investigation. Multiple Verona units operated on scene alongside mutual aid from North Caldwell and Montclair, with additional support from local police and EMS agencies.
