Pascoag, R.I. — Aug. 15 — The Pascoag Fire Department responded to a reported boat fire on Pascoag Reservoir involving a vessel carrying a full tank of gasoline.

Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the fire. Members of the community assisted the boat's occupants in safely reaching shore before and during the department's arrival. Residents also provided firefighters with access to the waterfront for personnel and equipment.

No injuries were reported in the information available about the incident. The response highlighted some of the challenges firefighters face during emergencies on the water, particularly when crews must gain access to incidents from private waterfront property.
