GILMANTON, N.H., Aug. 13, 2025 At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Gilmanton Fire Department responded to a brush fire located alongside a driveway in a wooded area. Upon the arrival of units 9 Forestry 2 and 9 Car 1, the Fire Chief requested assistance from the Belmont Fire Department’s 3 Forestry 1. Shortly afterward, 9 Tanker 2 arrived to provide water to the scene.
Firefighters used hoses and hand tools to control the blaze, applying more than 4,000 gallons of water, including foam, for extinguishment. The fire burned a total of three-quarters of an acre before it was brought under control.
The Gilmanton Fire Department extended gratitude to the Belmont Fire Department for their support. Officials also reminded residents to never leave a fire unattended, to clear dry vegetation around burn piles, to refrain from outdoor burning during extremely dry conditions, and to ensure that all outdoor fires are fully extinguished.
