Binghamton, NY - Group A crews responded to a vehicle fire at Fairview Avenue involving a nearby single-family residence that was exposed to the fire. Firefighters found moderate fire involvement in the vehicle’s engine compartment, with the flames threatening the adjacent structure.

Crews quickly deployed a 100-foot, 1¾-inch trash line and brought the fire under control. Firefighters also removed both passenger-side windows to access and extinguish fire that had extended into the passenger compartment. Tower 21 subsequently established a water supply from a nearby hydrant and assisted with the fire investigation while crews conducted additional overhaul operations to eliminate remaining hot spots.

The prompt actions and coordinated efforts of the responding firefighters successfully contained the fire to the vehicle and prevented it from spreading to the nearby residence.
