Paterson Handles 2nd Alarm during Citywide Water Crisis

Aug 8, 2025 approximately 1115 am . With the city of Paterson in a citywide water crisis due to a broken 30 inch water main. The PFD made a great stop at 325 Park Ave in a large 3 story multi family dwelling. Due to the problems with the major water main break, the city had called for mutual aid tankers to assist. The tankers from West Milford and Picatinny Arsenal were on scene to assist with water supply. Due to the excessive heat, the PFD rehab unit as well as the Passaic County Rehab units were on scene providing refreshments and rehab for the men as they came out of the fire building. Mutual Aid companies were also at the scene and covering city firehouses during the fire. The water problem in the city was expected to be repaired within 24 hours according to local TV news stations.
