Oak Bluffs Fire-EMS Responded to Burning Vehicle

Oak Bluffs, MA. — July 26 — When a car collided and caught fire at the intersection of County Road and Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs Police and the Oak Bluffs Fire-EMS Department, located at 6 Firehouse Lane, responded. Officers discovered the car completely engulfed in flames on a dirt embankment, with flames spreading to adjacent plants and a utility pole. Firefighters put out the fire fast and stopped it from spreading.
The motorist was found close by, refused medical attention, and was said to be unharmed. The motorist was later charged by police with speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign, fleeing the scene of a collision that caused property damage, and negligent operation in a court summons.
