Rehoboth, Mass. — Aug. 4 — A second-alarm structure fire at 477 Fairview Ave. was responded to as a mutual aid resource by Canteen 1 of the Special Signal Fire Association/Providence Canteen, 100 Minnesota Ave., Warwick. While the canteen unit offered rehabilitation services, hydration, snacks, and logistical support for emergency personnel, firefighters from other departments worked at the scene.
In order to keep personnel prepared for ongoing operations, extended incidents frequently need for specialized restoration resources. The response demonstrated the importance of specialist support units and regional mutual aid, which help firefighters during extended fireground operations while preserving responder safety and operational efficacy throughout the incident.
