NEWBURGH, NY - On August 1st, the Winona Lake Engine Company was called for wires down with a person trapped in a vehicle on Route 52. Upon arrival, the dump truck’s bed was still raised, having taken down two utility poles. The incident ripped wires from a building and caused a power outage affecting three buildings. Fortunately, the driver was not injured. The Orange Lake Fire Department was also called to assist with blocking off the road. Central Hudson and Verizon responded to the scene. The road remains shut down, and the Town of Newburgh Police Department is investigating the incident.
