Essex, Mass. — July 31 — Tanker 1 was sent to a reported trash truck fire on Route 128 South near Exit 49 in Manchester-by-the-Sea by the Essex Fire Department, located at 11 John Wise Ave., Essex, MA 01929. In order to offer a coordinated mutual aid response, the fire departments of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Wenham, and Essex were concurrently sent by the North Shore Regional 911 Center.

As firemen attempted to put out the fire, Essex crews provided water and more workers. Tanker operations were crucial due to the highway's restricted hydrant access. The coordinated reaction demonstrated the importance of regional collaborations in sustaining efficient emergency operations, safeguarding drivers, and assisting firemen.
