Conewango N.Y. Structure fire

Conewango, N.Y. - Firefighters from two counties responded to a working barn fire on Flatiron Road, with multiple departments supplying tankers and manpower to the operation. Conewango Fire Department was initially dispatched, and the Conewango chief arrived on scene and requested additional resources. The July 31, 2026 fire occurred at 5932 Flatiron Road in Conewango Valley, NY, and was reported around 8 p.m. Mutual aid included Ellington and Cherry Creek from Chautauqua County, along with Leon, Cattaraugus, South Dayton, Randolph, East Randolph, Little Valley, Perrysburg and Versailles from Cattaraugus County. The barn was destroyed despite the multi-department response. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
