City of Troy’s Police Department Investigating A Man Shot on Hoosick Street

In the early morning hours of July 31st just after 2:40 AM, the city of Troy’s Police Department was dispatched to the area of 15th Street and Hoosick Street for a report of shots fired with a gun shot wound victim on scene. Police arrived on scene and had a gun shot wound victim with multiple gun shot wounds to his torso. Engine four, Medic Four, the Rescue Squad, and the Battalion chief was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival firefighters quickly began to assist the gunshot wound victim and loaded the gun shot wound victim into the ambulance and began to provide the victim with high-quality advance life support. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center with additional members of the rescue squad on board to assist in stabilizing the patient.
The police department shut down Hoosick Street temporarily to collect all of the shell casings from the shooting and to collect additional evidence from the Speedway gas station. At this time there is no shooter in custody and the individual from the shooting is in stable condition at Albany Medical Center. The shooter from this incident is still on the loose and is considered armed and dangerous and residents and visitors should use caution.
