This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

SELDEN, NY - On July 31st, Selden firefighters responded to a routine ambulance call for a male reportedly who passed out. As paramedics and ambulance personnel arrived to the home on Evergreen Drive, they found a bariatric patient stuck behind a door in the bathroom, and unable to get out from behind. Paramedics advised dispatch of the situation and activated for an EMS assist. Firefighters responded with two rescue trucks and three chiefs for manpower and to gain entrance to the patient. Firefighters removed the door and door frame, but needed a little more room. Saws were used to remove part of the wall, freeing the patient, who then had to be moved on to a Reeves stretcher down the hallway, then lifted out of the front door on to a stretcher, and then into the ambulance for transport to the hospital.
