Hazardous Materials Spill in Mastic Beach

On Friday July 30th 2021 at 10:00am the Environmental Conservation showed up to residence Hemlock Drive in Mastic Beach for a report of a Hazardous Material Spill of 52 55 Gallon Drums that been dumped and leaked of spray foam insulation into the ground. The Environmental Conservation then requested the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Spill Response Team, Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal, and Suffolk County Police Department to the location aswell as a Miller Environmental. On the morning of Saturday July 31st 2021 the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal, Suffolk County Police Department District Attorney, and the Miller Environmental went back to the residence to start cleaning the contaminated soil and do take samples of the soil. Miller Enviormential is still looking for a place to properly dispose of the 52 barrels of Spray Foam Insulation.
