During a string of storm-related emergency calls around the township on July 28, members of Fairmount Fire Company No. 1 and the Washington Township Fire Department responded to a shed fire just before 9 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered that a shed was on fire, with flames spreading to another shed. Both fires were swiftly contained by crews, limiting the exposure building's damage. Companies went back to work after clearing the area and spent the rest of the evening reacting to more storm-related problems.
