Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) & Mecklengburg EMS (MEDIC) responded to a reported drowning at The Reserve at Providence Apartments. The call came into Charlotte Fire Alarm Dispatch at 4:10pm on Saturday afternoon. The apartment complex is located at 5917 Providence Road.
According to a spokesperson for Mecklengburg EMS Agency (MEDIC), the child who's identity was not released was treated for life threatening injuries and transported to Carolinas Medical Center. The Mecklengburg EMS Agency (MEDIC) spokesperson said the drowning could have been a result of a medical emergency, but this couldn't be confirmed at the time this story was written.
