Gallatin, TN - On July 9th, Sumner County EMA was dispatched to assist Gallatin Fire at the Gallatin Marina for a boat fire at the docks.

The first arriving companies manned GFD Marine 2, which is housed at the marina, and began fighting the fire. Thanks to swift action by GFD firefighters, marina staff, police and EMA members, boats were able to be removed from their slips and taken to safety, helping prevent the spread of the fire.

Hendersonville Fire Marine 1 responded mutual aid and was a huge asset to the scene. Rehab 83 responded to keep personnel hydrated and rehabbed. TWRA and GFD officials were investigating the cause of the fire.

Awedaddys Bar & Grill prepared hamburgers for the firemen on scene that were greatly appreciated. Great job by all agencies that operated on scene and for making a quick stop to save the marina!
