Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a reported vegetation fire in the 19000 block of Sheltered Hill Drive in Brooksville after a lightning strike ignited a tree in a wooded area behind nearby homes.

Upon arrival, crews quickly located the fire and initiated suppression operations, preventing it from spreading to surrounding vegetation and adjacent structures. The incident was brought under control without damage to nearby homes.
