Mastic Firefighters Extinguish Fully Involved Vehicle Fire

On July 17, at around 6:16 p.m., the Mastic Fire Department responded to a fully engaged automobile fire on Montauk Highway.


Chief Rudy Sunderman was the first to arrive and reported a fully involved car with what seemed to be internal fireworks. Engine 5-12-10A helped with overhaul operations to guarantee the fire was totally put out, while Engine 5-12-4 swiftly used a bumper line and booster line to put out the fire.


Within 45 minutes, all units were back in service after firefighters managed to contain the situation.
