Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a reported brush fire in the 11000 block of Lomita Wren Road in Weeki Wachee. Upon arrival, crews encountered a fire covering an estimated area of approximately 100 by 100 feet.

Firefighters quickly initiated suppression operations, successfully knocking down the fire and preventing extension to nearby areas. No injuries were reported, and no structures were impacted during the incident.

The fire was determined to have been caused by fireworks. The Florida Forest Service - Withlacoochee Forestry Center assisted at the scene, and command was later transitioned to their personnel for continued management.
