East Williston, N.Y. — June 28 — At the intersection of Sagamore Avenue and East Williston Avenue, the East Williston Fire Department, located at 456 Sagamore Ave., East Williston, NY 11596, responded to a fully involved landscaping truck fire. As soon as they arrived, Chiefs 8100 and 8102, Engine 814, and Rescue 812 started fighting the fire. Firefighters secured the car, put out the fire, and looked for any new dangers.

A hazardous materials unit was dispatched by the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office to assess the risks associated with gasoline and equipment. There were no reported injuries. As activities came to an end, the coordinated response assisted in reopening the intersection, restoring scene safety, and protecting surrounding properties.
