Coconut Creek, FL - The Coconut Creek Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the 900 block of Palmetto Drive, where crews encountered a heavily damaged home.

Firefighters conducted suppression operations and assisted with occupant care. One adult male was transported to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Despite efforts, several pets were lost in the fire, while one dog was able to escape.

The incident resulted in significant damage to the residence, displacing the family. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
