Monroe, CT - The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc. responded to a reported structure fire on Barn Hill Road, where crews conducted an aggressive interior operation upon arrival.

Firefighters quickly contained the fire to a single room, limiting extension to the rest of the home. During the operation, crews located and safely removed a dog from the residence. While the room of origin sustained heavy fire damage, the remainder of the unit experienced significant smoke damage, and an adjoining unit had only minor impact.

No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. Multiple departments, including Stevenson and Stepney, operated on scene alongside EMS and police. Crews remained on location to complete overhaul and ventilation, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
