On July 22, Netcong Fire Department was requested to respond to Netcong Heights Apartments for the reported apartment fire, called in by the leasing office. On scene, both Netcong Police and Chief 1 confirmed fire on the balcony of the 2nd floor apartment. Officers used extinguishers to suppress what they could while units were enroute. Roxbury Fire was clearing a call of their own and requested to the scene by Chief 1, for manpower. Budd Lake Fire Department was requested for the RIC as a precaution, in the event fire had extended into the attic space. Crews suppressed remaining fire in the soffit and began overhaul. A small dog was removed from the apart, unharmed.
