Jamestown, RI - The Jamestown Vol. Fire Department responded to a reported building fire, initially dispatched to one location before being updated to Marcelo Drive. Upon arrival, command reported smoke and fire showing from the roofline of a two-and-a-half-story wood-frame residence, with solar panels involved.
The first-arriving engine advanced attack lines and initiated fire suppression, while additional crews utilized aerial and ground ladders to access the roof. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and conducted overhaul to check for extension into the structure.
Crews operated on scene for an extended period before returning to service. Mutual aid was provided by Newport Fire Department, Portsmouth Fire Department, and Newport Navy Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
