Pleasant Hills, PA. — June 17 — The Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company, located at 72 Clairton Blvd., provided mutual aid to Jefferson Hills Fire-Rescue in response to an industrial hopper fire. The vehicle played a crucial role in the tragedy, and the department despatched both its engine and truck. A tanker shuttle and dump station was set up by firefighters to feed water continuously to many high master streams.
Throughout the operation, crews collaborated with nearby agencies to help suppression operations and keep water flowing. During large-scale industrial fire occurrences around the region, the coordinated response showed the value of cooperation, efficient water supply planning, and mutual aid.
