The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 22 South Street, July 4th. Upon arrival, crews encountered a fully involved detached garage apartment, with flames extending to the main residence. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the occupants were not home at the time of the incident. The garage apartment was completely gutted by the fire, displacing two individuals. The main house sustained only external fire damage. The incident was brought under control by the initial responding units. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
