Norwalk, CT - Norwalk Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on Stuart Avenue with possible occupants inside. First-arriving companies encountered heavy fire in the rear of a one-and-a-half-story residence with extension to both floors.
Radiant heat ignited a detached garage and damaged a neighboring home, prompting additional alarms and a large-scale response. Firefighters deployed multiple handlines, conducted searches, ventilated the structure, and secured utilities while protecting nearby exposures.
The fire was brought under control quickly through coordinated operations. No occupants were inside, and no injuries were reported. The residence was under renovation and unoccupied.
The cause remains under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division.
