New Oxford, PA. — July 2 — On a mutual aid assignment, the Irishtown Fire Company helped Gettysburg Fire at a transformer fire involving a power plant. In order to provide a consistent water supply for the teams working at the scene, Engine Tanker 14 set up a fill site at the intersection of Route 394 and Amblebrook Boulevard. While utility workers addressed the equipment's electrical risks, firefighters assisted with suppression operations.
Maintaining firefighting activities throughout the reaction was made possible in large part by dependable water delivery operations. The event demonstrated the importance of cooperation, coordinated planning, and mutual aid between utility staff and fire departments in specialized emergency situations.
