On June 16th, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new Rockland County Firefighters Line of Duty Death Memorial. This will be located on the front lawn of the Rockland County Courthouse in New City. The memorial will be dedicated to all Rockland County volunteer firefighters who have perished in the line of duty; all FDNY firefighters who were residents of Rockland County and all county residents who served as a firefighter outside of Rockland or FDNY.
