On July 3, the Collings Lakes Fire Department was called to a gas main that had been struck and had an active leak near Mayflower Drive and West Collings Drive.

While workers dealt with the situation, stations 12-3 and 12-6 were sent to protect the area. While emergency personnel dealt with the gas leak and made sure everyone was safe, local roads were closed.
