This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Middlefield, CT. — July 9 — A reported brush fire prompted the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company to react to the 200 block of Jackson Hill Road. A 10-by-20-foot shed was completely engulfed in flames when the first officer arrived, and they informed the incoming units. In order to stop the fire from spreading to adjacent bush and neighboring exposures, firefighters swiftly got it under control by deploying a handline.

To help with the water supply operation, the Durham Volunteer Fire Company sent a tanker. The issue was effectively contained thanks to coordinated actions between the two departments. No casualties were recorded, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
