Crystal River, FL - The Citrus County Fire Rescue, working alongside the Florida Forest Service - Withlacoochee Forestry Center, responded to a wildfire in the Dunnellon area near North Citrus Avenue and Dunnellon Road.

Fire crews quickly worked to establish containment lines and stop the forward progression of the fire, focusing efforts on securing the southern edge. Through coordinated suppression operations, the wildfire was successfully contained at approximately six acres.

Although the fire is fully contained, crews remain on scene to monitor conditions. Smoke and smoldering within the burned area may continue and are considered normal. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the area as personnel continue to ensure the fire remains secure.
