At 6:40 pm on Saturday, July 5th 2025 the Colchester Fire Department with Hebron Squad 210, Marlborough Engine 117, Bozrah Ladder 126 and the Yantic FAST were dispatched to 203 Lebanon Avenue for a house fire. Engine 128 arrived at 6:43 with heavy fire from the rear of the second and third floor of a 2.5 story wood frame residential over commercial structure. Engine 1 laid their own supply line and stretched a hose line to the rear, knocking a large volume of fire. The crew then advanced that line into the back of the second floor. Simultaneously a hose line was stretched through the front while Truck 128 went to the roof for vertical ventilation.
A second alarm was transmitted which added Lebanon Engine 206, Salem Engine 121, East Hampton Engine 212 and Hebron Truck 110. Companies placed 4 lines into operation and had to open up a lot of void spaces. Members worked extremely hard to keep the roof on this building. The Oakdale and Portland Fire Departments provided station coverage and the Colchester Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
